Remember when Google used to be cool? … No? We also barely remember that.
The thing is that it became kind of the exact opposite of cool. This little data hungry demon 👹. And our clients do feel the vibe and are looking for alternatives. They are ditching flashy functions and going back to the basics. Willing to exchange productivity for privacy. Sometimes they are paying even more for a plan that doesn’t come with the bitter taste of an ever wealth-hoarding extractive corporation.
Our clients ask that we switch Gemini entirely off (sadly, Google gives you no discount after that). Some are moving their whole business data to something like privacy focused Mailbox.org or Proton. There are migrations away from Google Cloud back to on-premise infrastructure with open source apps, where you get a full ownership of your life again …hmmm, I can hear birds chirping again…
